As I mentioned last week, the designs I’ve been working on are finally finished.
The first is my flowing chakras design, which I originally drew a while back for an album of Meditation music: Root to Crown.
The second is a pattern I created for my eye pillows with the third eye / 6th chakra / anja symbol from the flowing chakras design.
The eye pillows are made from recycled bamboo & organic cotton shirts from previous seasons – I haven’t decided if I’ll be ordering more fabric once I run out. They’re going fast, so be sure to get one soon if you’re interested!
You can find everything here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheLotusRoot
Also – If you’re in NYC – Vincent and I will be selling our eye pillows, tshirts, mugs, etc. tomorrow at the Inwood Greenmarket in upper Manhattan ( 9 am -1pm if the weather permits!)

One last thing – thank you so much if you answered my anonymous survey last week..I really appreciate your questions, sweet words and feedback! Feel free to leave a question or comment if you haven’t already.

The Coney Island Mermaid Parade is the nations largest art parade, where people dress up as mermaids, mermen + other sea creatures. It almost didn’t happen this year due to hurricane sandy – but it was saved thanks to everyone who donated to the parades kickstarter campaign. I always enjoy the creativity that goes into the costumes, floats and performances. One of these days I’d love to perform – but for the last few years I’ve been having too much fun running around, taking candid photos of mermaids on the boardwalk.
You can find more photos that I’ve taken at previous Mermaid Parades here

Thanks so much to everyone who submitted their great guesses to the giveaway!
Kristen Fagan of Creativestash.com had the right answer – I’m working on herbal eye pillows.
I’ve recycled some t-shirts I had left from last season to create these limited edition herbal / aromatherapy eyepillows. These pillows have the sweet & relaxing scent of lavender and red rose, and are also filled with hops, mugwort, and golden flax seeds. You can find them in my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheLotusRoot
How to use:
Place a pillow over your eyes to help block out light so you’ll get a more restorative sleep.
They’re the perfect tool for meditation – use during savasana (corpse pose in yoga) or to help you catch some Z’s. The aroma of the herbal blend will help you relax and tune out the world around you.
Put your pillow in a zip lock bag and place in the freezer to make it into soothing a cold pack. Sweet Dreams!
